The Sanderson Centre Foundation is an independent charitable corporation dedicated to the enhancement of the Sanderson Centre and the theatre experience of its patrons.
The Foundation's goals are achieved primarily through fundraising for capital improvements that may not be funded by other means.
The Brantford Heritage Theatre Foundation spearheaded a highly successful fundraising campaign for the restoration and renovation of the Sanderson Centre then known as the Capitol Theatre. In 1986, the theatre was purchased by the City of Brantford and was renamed the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts. Following the renaming of the theatre, the Brantford Heritage Foundation became the Sanderson Centre Foundation, a group committed to continuing the work of the original group of dedicated citizens. Visit our Sanderson Centre History page to learn more.
Opened as the Temple Theatre in December 1919, Brantford’s Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts is celebrating its 100th Anniversary. The Sanderson Centre Foundation has captured and chronicled the engaging history of this architectural gem over the last 10 decades with a handsome, hard cover coffee table book. A treasured keepsake or a wonderful gift, this commemorative book celebrates an important milestone in Brantford's history.
